Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-11-04. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use Gem Carat Calculator (https://www.example.com).

The short version

  • The calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us.
  • Your last calculator choices may be saved in your own browser's local storage so the tool remembers them. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings.
  • At the moment we do not run ads or analytics, and set no cookies. This policy also explains what will change if we add them.

Who is responsible

The site is operated by Osama Niazi. Contact: contact@example.com.

Data we process

  • Calculator inputs: processed only in your browser. Share links you create contain your inputs in the web address, so anyone you send a link to can see them.
  • Local storage: the last values you used in each calculator, stored only on your device.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability, for a limited period.
  • Email: if you contact us, we use your email address and message only to reply.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We may show ads served by Google. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can manage personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform before any advertising cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy link the message provides.

Analytics

If we enable analytics, we will use a privacy-friendly, cookieless service and load it only where consent rules allow. We will not use analytics to identify you personally.

Legal bases (GDPR and UK GDPR)

We rely on your consent for advertising cookies and non-essential analytics, and on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website for server logs and replying to messages.

Your rights

EEA and UK: you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time. You can complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

California (CCPA and CPRA): you can ask what personal information we collect, ask us to delete it, and opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Where ads use cookies, you can opt out through the consent controls and Google's ad settings above.

To exercise any right, email us. We will respond within the time the law requires.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA) and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this page and its date when our practices change, for example when ads or analytics are switched on.
